Competition Starts 1:30pmThe Gawler and Gawler Light Rotary Clubs ran the inaugural Gawler Barossa Tractor Pull at the Gawler Paceway on Saturday 10 November 2007. This was enormously successful with 5,000 people attending and over $65,000 raised for charity. The second event was run at the Kapunda Paceway on Saturday 8 November 2008 and this was also a big success with 3,000 people attending in less-than-ideal weather conditions. The events are for Modified Tractors, sanctioned by the Australian Tractor Pull Association and the competitors earned points towards the Australian Championships. This ATPA sanctioned event is one of the ten events held each year for the Australian Championships.

A Tractor Pull involves powerful, modified machines pulling a large, movable weight on a sled over a 100 metre graded run. As the weight moves forward, the resistance increases with the tractors roaring and bucking their way along the track until they can go no further. The tractor that pulls furthest and fastest wins the heat. Tractors vary in size from modified ride-on mowers for beginners to 2000 horsepower monsters with names such as “Enforcerâ€Â, “Outlaw†and “Rough Justice.â€Â
Tractor pulling is an international sport with major competitions in England, Europe and America. The Rotary Club of Gawler and the Rotary Club of Gawler Light have promoted this event as a major fundraiser for local organisations and charities, and they were generously sponsored by local, State and national businesses and organisations

Despite 17 years, world tours, multiple line up changes and thousands of gigs later the dyin' day aint here yet!
The same tenacity and rebellion that made the Jets and the Sharks the cult of youth in 1961's West Side Story, was alive and well in the working class heartland of Newcastle during the early eighties when a couple of mates would talk about forming a great rock band. Heavily influenced by their heroes, AC/DC, The Doors, The Rolling Stones, The Sex Pistols, The Angels and Rose Tattoo.
Whether they are in a dusty pub in regional Australia, or a stadium in L.A, the smoke will still be rising off the bitumen long after the Jets truck has rolled on. They are survivors in an industry that eats it's own, and despite it all they are committed to their fans in a manner few could hold a candle to. Australia Day in the City (Parade)

North Terrace, AdelaidePlanning is well underway for the Australia Day Parade 2010. Registrations for Parade Participants are now - you can register your involvement as a group, or for the first time ever as an individual!
For 2010 the Parade and Concert will be combined into one event: Australia Day in the City. The combined event will be changing to a late afternoon and evening timeslot.
Australia Day - the day we celebrate what's great about Australia and being Australian!
The Australia Day Parade is presented by the Australia Day Council of SA and Adelaide City Council and proudly sponsored by Normetals.
The Parade features giant characters, floats, marching bands and roving performers alongside community groups and proud Aussie's all waving the Australian flag.
We will again run competitions for Group Parade Particpants with prizes in several categories. The categories for 2010 are "Best Music", "Best Costumes" and "Most Creative". The winners will be announced during the Concert that follows the Parade.
We are running some Community Arts Workshops for groups taking part in the parade, where they can work with professional artists to create a float or similar to use in the Parade. The groups taking part in the workshops are:
Korea-Australia Friendship Association Inc.
Ahwazian Community in Australia Inc.
South Australian Maori CouncilWe can't wait to see what they create! Please note that applications for the workshops have now closed.

Cinema by Stars is a ‘free to the community’ local outdoor cinematic event designed to raise funds for charity. The charitable cause is the Centacare outreach program ‘Bilby Bus’, a mobile playground designed for children from homeless families and those at risk of homelessness (http://www.centacare.org.au/page-webbased.asp?id=61).
