Apple have called in the fun police to clean up the app store.

In what is rumoured to be a prelude to the release of the iPad, all apps featuring lewd content are being removed, and developers are being asked to either modify existing content that may offend, or indeed even delete offending apps from general circulation.

Apps such as the strip poker / blackjack suites, apps featuring scantily clad bikini models, and yes, even the ever popular iBoobs app.

There's no hint of whether Apple may in future create an "Adults Only" section for Apps, but based on Apple's latest move we won't be holding our breaths.
