The Interview - Part 1: Should guys ever wear pink shirts? Why does Chris want to be a pornstar? (allow audio a few seconds to load)

Part 2: Do the lads play private parties? Can they ever finish their stories. Is this the best interview ever? Decide for yourself.

Part 3: The band chat about playing to Aussies round the world and writing a new VB jingle.

The Chair's Biography

Silverchair have had more Top 20 hits in the last decade than any other Australian band, five number one albums (that's one more than both Midnight Oil and Chisel) and perhaps most impressively, have built on their early success (starting as 14-year-olds!) to become one of the country's most innovative and relevant bands.

Initially known as Short Elvis, then the Innocent Criminals, these three Newcastle teens - Daniel Johns, Ben Gillies and Chris Joannou - first turned heads in 1994 with a little ditty called 'Tomorrow', which eventually reached number one in Australia, New Zealand and the Top 10 in the US. Despite early comparisons to a 'Nirvana in Pyjamas', their 1995 debut album, Frogstomp, sold more than 2.5 million copies and saw the band supporting the Red Hot Chili Peppers while still at school.

Four albums and twelve crucial years later, Silverchair have well and truly grown up. Now light years away from their early grunge sound as teenagers, 2007 has seen them return from a four year hiatus with the richer, more experimental sounds of their latest album, Young Modern.

Silverchair are:
Daniel Johns - vocals/guitar
Chris Joannou - bass
Ben Gillies - drums
(Paul Mac - keyboards)
