AC/DC Shake Adelaide Post by: Eddie Ruckus 3 March, 2010 - 7:04 AM

It wasn’t quite Hell’s Bells, but Adelaide welcomed AC/DC into town yesterday by ringing out the town hall bells in the band’s honour.

Come the evening, 43,000 fans descended on Adelaide Oval for the city’s one and only AC/DC show of the Black Ice world tour. And didn’t it go down a treat.

Despite complaints about long queues to get into the venue, noise restrictions and a strict 11PM curfew, the city of churches was turned into the devil’s playground last night.

And it wasn't just fans inside the venue that enjoyed the show. The parklands around the Oval were filled with fans and families taking in sounds of the greatest rock band on Earth. In fact, despite the sound restrictions, the show could be heard around much of the city. Yeah!!!

The Black Ice show now moves to Perth for the final two shows of the tour.

Yes friends, it’s true – soon, the greatest tour we’ve ever seen will be over. What the hell will we do then?

Adelaide fans, tell us – how the hell was it?

Awesome! Considering the age of these guys now, they sure put on a great show. Opening scene was spectacular as usual. Would loved to have heard some other classics but with 30 odd years of music it is hard to have a playlist that appeals to everyone.

The organisation of this event however was a joke ..........Adelaide oval was way to small for this event, the queues were long (no wonder trying to fit 40000 people through virtually one gate), staff knew nothing, security was virtually non existent and crowds overflowed onto King William Road after the concert for a good half hour. Not a good advertisement for getting AFL to the ground if it is going to be like this.

ACDC were awesome! Great show, pity the entrances were a debacle - got into line 30 min before Wolfmother started and didn't get in until their last 2 songs. The crowd around us were pretty tame for a Hard Rock show with people complaining if anything vaguely resembling a mosh pit was started and we were only 15m from the stage. Way to precious some concert goers - if you don't like the heat stay out of the kitchen!

The show was awesome - so good it made you forget the frustrations of getting in. The security company did nothing to help - turned their backs on the people breaking from the queue and swarming to the gates. 1 1/2 hours to get in and we missed both the support acts. Not good enough fronm the security company or the promoters!
