Rock legend Alice Cooper has a tip for all you young bands who wanna make it big. Stop posing and put a bit of Aussie into it. In other words, have some bloody fun!

The 62-year-old shock rocker told Triple M's Ugly Phil that recently it's been the Aussie bands that have left an impression on him.

"I really like garage bands like Jet. I like bands that sound like drunk bar bands. I just saw this video of Airbourne the other night ("Blonde, Bad & Beautiful") and I went 'ok, that looks like fun'."

He went on to talk about the ex-Gunners guitarist and, can we say honorary Aussie, Slash. "When you get a guy of the calibre of Slash… I always told him that when you're between bands feel free to just plug in anytime that we're on stage.

"I've been on stage before and my guitar player is up there playing and I'll hear this extra guitar and I turn around and there's Slash plugged in!"

People really respect Alice now because he fought the system back in the early days. And without sounding like your grandad he had this advice for all you young scallywags wanting to start a band.

"Spend more time writing songs and less time posing. You need to be original. The hardest thing in the world to do is to be original."
