Bon Jovi Gets Political Post by: Eddie Ruckus 4 March, 2010 - 6:46 AM
During recent presidential elections in America, Jon Bon Jovi has made no secret of where his allegiances lie. During the last election, he was a big supporter of candidate Barack Obama.
When his mate became president, the Jov promised to do whatever he could to help.
Obama has now taken Jon up on his offer, getting the superstar to be face and spokeperson for a volunteer campaign called “United We Serve”.
From tonight in Los Angeles, fans at Bon Jovi gigs in the US will be shown a two-minute video featuring Jon urging his fans to get involved in volunteer work to help their communities.
“I’m a big believer in the power of ‘we’,” Jon says in the video. “We can tackle the tough challenges we face and build community through service and volunteering. The reality is we’re all in this together.”
Jon, of course, is doing his own bit in helping American communities through his charity work with the Bon Jovi Foundation, building affordable homing for some of America’s most disadvantaged. What a man!
What do you think of the video? Is a rock concert the right place for this sort of thing?

It's good that people like Jon know that with their input it will make a difference in the world.
When a star gets involved people seem to take a lot more notice and put their hand up to help.

Jon should be applauded for his philanthropic endeavours, he is a man who has never forgotten where he came from and is always keen to give back - there should be more in his position that are willing to be so "human".
