Bon Jovi Rocked Socks Off Sydney! Post by: Pete & Friends 18 December, 2010 - 12:36 AM

Bon Jovi

As he strode onstage to a screaming, waving, cheering Sydney Football Stadium, Jon Bon Jovi told Sydney, "This ain't television! Get out of your seats... Stand up everyone!"

We obeyed, and we didn't stop dancing until the show was over.

The atmosphere was electric. We brought the party and Bon Jovi brought the music. Awesome.

He said thank you to Sydney for all the years of support and the fact they attracted such a big crowd.

"Not bad for a bunch of old blokes!" laughed Jon Bon Jovi.

There's something about songs that you've sung for twenty years, drunk, sad, really bloody happy ... that gives them a timelessness.

The great thing was the Bon Jovi boys seem frozen in time as well.

As soon as they strum that first riff, it's like you're back in the place you first heard the track.

Bon Jovi unanimously rocked the socks off Sydney Football Stadium on Friday night as thousands screamed for more.

By every measure of rockin' greatness, the concert was amazing, with every song a hit.

As Triple M listener/Facebook friend of Triple M Sydney's The Grill Team Michael said, "F***in' unreal best concert I've ever been to!"

Fellow listener/Facebook friend Victoria agreed. "Awesome Awesome Awesome!!!"

The only lacking was one Jov classic missing from the set list. "Gutted they didn't play "Always," Daniel, Triple M listener and Facebook friend of the Grill Team said.

Despite this oversight, Jon and the boys sure gave Sydney a show to remember.

What a setlist, no wonder everyone was on their feet from start to finish.
True class never goes out of fashion.
    Rock on Jon.

Last night's show (17th) was the best show I have ever seen from Bon Jovi. In all my 17yrs of seeing them live, this concert left me wanting more... I only wish that i could go to the show on sunday night... I have never screamed or yelled that much in my life!!!

The concert was awesome! Two and a half hours of the best rock and roll band in the world. They rocked the stage better than guys half their age! Loved it and wish I was there again tonight, tomorrow night and every night!!!

Had such a great time last night. The boys put on an amazing show. If there had been a roof on the stadium, it would have been lifted into the stratosphere. The energy level was awesome.

Tried so hard to win the VIP tickets for tomorrow night ... if you have any left over, I'd gladly take them off your hands.

Security code = Softer... I don't think so!!!

I went to U2 on Tuesday and thought that was a great concert and would be hard to top.

Boy was I wrong! Bon Jovi was so good that it made U2 look average!

It was a surreal experance to see 40 thousand+ people standing and singing word for word living on a prayer if the place had a roof it would have blown off!

    10/10

The Friday 17th Sydney show was another great night in history. Bon Jovi didn't disappoint, and my son and I stood and danced and sang the whole concert through.

The guys are 'old enough' to have fans of two generations, a nice aspect for my Son and I. We also went to Brisbane on the 14th, and again, Jon Bon Jovi has the ability to make you feel like it's an intimate club setting, and everyone is standing within 20 meters of the band.

Opening with 'Blood on Blood' on both nights we went was a great way to start the crowd going, and it didn't stop till the lights went out, and Jon, two shirt changes later, disappeared from the stage, a final wave to the thousands of fans who would have stood their all night to hear Bon Jovi perform. A great memory.
