Classic Nirvana On DVD Post by: Eddie Ruckus - Rockin' Blogger 16 October, 2009 - 6:48 AM
Nirvana’s headlining slot at England’s Reading Festival in 1992 is generally considered to be the highpoint of all the Nevermind mania and has become one of the most bootlegged gigs of all time.
Now, finally, the legendary show is coming to DVD and CD.
In what was to be Nirvana’s final ever British appearance, Kurt Cobain famously came on stage pushed in a wheelchair and wearing a hospital gown.
The electrifying show includes all the tracks off Nevermind, as well as three from In Utero which at that point was still almost two years away from release.
To all you little kids out there, Nirvana was Uncle Dave Grohl's band when he was growing up. No, that’s not him singing – he’s that strapping young chap sweating it out up the back.

Both a CD and DVD version of Nirvana Live At Reading is out on October 30.

Both Festival Hall and Fishermans Wharf. WOW.
I reckon I was one of the first in Brisbane with Nevermind as I picked it up in the States back in the bad old days of the lagged worldwide release as I liked Bleach a whole lot.
I'm on my 3rd copy of Nevermind now kids enjoy it too although we dont have 30 VBs when we listen to it now.

My love affair with Nirvana and Kurt Cobain started when I was 14 years old after seeing the film clip of smells like teen spirit on video hits one Saturday Morning.
I am now 31 and still obsessed with Kurt Cobain - I even named my son after him lol.
Even though Kurt has gone His voice will always live on even if it's only heard coming from my house :-)

Nirvana rocked like no other band of their time. They weren't pretentious and their music struck a chord with millions... and still does.
Bring on playing those old Nirvana classics!!! The Nirvana special on Triple M was extraordinary. Keep up the great work.

Nirvana was the best band in regards to their sound and truism's.
I was at the Brisbane gig; Nirvana supported The Violent Femmes, 27/01/1992. I was 14, and the ticket was a very early Birthday gift for my 15th, in April, from my older sister. Still the most amazing gift I'd ever received.
We got stuck at the front, posistioning ourselves perfectly for V.Femmes and just got blown away by the band, and the massive guys surroundings us. My shoe's were pressured off my feet. Had both my big toe's busted to a pulp, with the rest of my feet not looking too fine either. Whoever this huge, caring and persistent guy was in the crowd that night, he saved us two, in comparison very tiny gal's, by wrenching us back up from underneath a pounding crowd every time we went under.
Best gig,and band EVER.
