At exactly the same time as the rest of the music world was watching the Grammys yesterday, Coldplay finally made their much-touted appearance on The Simpsons on US TV.
The band’s brief appearance – the whole thing only lasts about 30 seconds – comes in an episode called Million Dollar Maybe in which Homer wins the lottery and gets Coldplay to perform a private show in a massive arena for just him and Bart.
The yellow band is shown performing “Viva La Vida” and, this might come as a shock, but Chris Martin is the only member of the group who gets a couple of lines of dialogue in the show.

Disappointing. After all the promo that Fox did about it, we all expected - there is a group of 3 of us that watched - a bit more than a minute or two of a few words and cut off music.
Love the Simpsons but they had a big opportunity here and they blew it. I mean the Grammy's were on after and what they could have done with that or whatever... I dunno. the episode was ok but if I was the band, and esp. Chris, I'd be a bit disappointed. i am .
I saw him on the Coldplay site and what he read was funnier and longer. I know about outakes and editing et. al but nah, they lost the ball on this one. Fox, not Coldplay.
Geez. You don't get people excited about a superduper chocolate bar and then give them a candy kiss. Maybe Coldplay should .. oh no, i won't go there.
I am sure they are happy, as they always manage to be positive and were even so delightfully nice as to give a screenshot away for download to their fans. hmmm.... I wonder if they were supposed to do that? ooops.
