Are you ready to get rocked? You better be because Def Leppard, one of the greatest rock acts ever, have announced their return to Australia in October.

The British heavy metal legends will kick-off their Aussie tour in Perth before making their way around the country including shows in Adelaide and Perth.

And in an extra special treat Def Leppard they will be joined by American rockers Heart, who will be playing Australia for the very first time and Oz rock legends Choirboys.

Triple M Sydney's Becko jumped out of his is seat when he heard the news the rockers responsible for all those classic anthems from the Pyromania and Hysteria albums like "Love Bites", "Pour Some Sugar on Me", "Hysteria" and "Rocket" were coming down under.

"I was only seven when I was given a copy of Hysteria, my first album and most treasured of all time - I still listen to the original vinyl. I can't wait to see Def Leppard: the band that I grew up with and one of the greatest rock acts ever."

Dangerous Dave from Triple M Melbourne remembered: "In 1988 if your pencil case didn’t have an ACDC or Def Leppard logo on it you were destined for a lifetime of Rick Astley. These guys always impress on stage. I salute just one arm (Thanks Rick Allen)!".

Tickets go on sale from 9am Monday July 18.

Fantastic, the boys are coming back to town. I just wish you guys weren't a Def Leppard "bandwagon" station. Only playing them frequently when they tour and only ever playing maybe 6 of their 130+ songs.

Can you possibly think of petitioning Def Leppard to come to Adelaide?? It's been done before with other bands - they have a huge following here - why does Adelaide always have to miss out - PLEASE HELP :)

Ok, these guys Rock and have been tuned to their style since Hysteria. I think Adrenalize in the round was one of the best shows I have seen but I do hope they give the fans a little more than the 08 tour of 1 and a 1/2 hrs.

That's rubbish Reg, Def are always played on Triple M regardless of them touring or not. They might get played more, like Pearl Jam I notice but not just during tour time. Looking forward to seeing some awesome lip syncing live for the first time, bring it on!
