Powderfinger's Epic Finale "Goes Bananas" Post by: Madame H 15 November, 2010 - 11:46 AM

After 34 shows and 300,000 fans later, Powderfinger has wrapped up an epic Farewell Sunsets Tour infront of a packed home crowd.

Triple M Announcer Johnno Keetels was there to witness all the crowd favourites as a piece of Australian rock history was consigned to the record books.

"I'm gutted they're retiring, they're the soundtrack to my growing in here in Brissy," he said. "It was a great blend of old and new stuff, and all the crowd favourites were in there.

"'On My Mind' was the highlight of the night, if felt like the entire crowd let loose. I remember looking around and thinking this place is going bananas!"

It was an epic night and a fitting farewell to one of Australia's greatest ever bands.

It would have to be seeing them at Festival Hall back in the day. It was my first Powderfinger concert. I was standing right in front of the stage and the music was pumping through my body, it was the best feeling they rocked all nite.

I've been to many of their concerts and I love their songs and some of them I can relate to... they mean so much to me.

I saw them on saturday nite and shed a few tears when Bernard was singing "These Days". I felt upset but so thankful for their beautiful music they made and shared with all of us. They're Aussie Icons!!!

Saturday was such an emotional night, every song they played was great but you always remembered they would never sing them again, the tears started flowing with these days and it was great to see the band acknowledge the fans, i stood with people from wa and nsw to watch the concert.
