The 'Finger gave fans a show to remember at their last ever concert in Melbourne, leaving nothing in the tank with an intimate performance that ranks as one of their best.
According to Triple M's Shaun Gough this was far and away the greatest Powderfinger show he had ever seen over their 20-year history.
"It felt really intimate, they left nothing," he raved after the gig. "Every song you wanted to hear was played".
In front of an intimate backdrop the band rocked a packed Sidney Music Myer Bowl with a setlist full of hits - "My Happiness", "On My Mind", "My Kinda Scene", "Passenger" and "These Days" were the standouts.
However, the most memorable moment of the night was when singer Bernard Fanning spotted his ex-girlfriend in the crowd!
Shaun said: "Bernard spotted his ex-girlfriend and proceeded to share with everyone the reason why she dumped him - 'for a guy who was into the Smiths...' Bernard said before laughing "f*** you Morrissey".
"He gave her a hug right at the end of the gig before walking off for good."
It's Adelaide's turn tomorrow night before Powderfinger go to Sydney and Brisbane where they'll play their last ever show on November 13.

I cried at the end. How could they do this to me right now. Many a song over the years has bought happiness and memories. This was a very intimate show that the older fan was thrilled with. When they played My Happiness it reminded me of the feelings I felt when my husband left for Iraq and the joy I felt when he come home. What a show! Lets hope that they may feel the need to do a John Farhnam and return in the future. All my Love, Memories and Best Wishes to the Guys. Karen

Have been a fan for years but unfortunately only got to see them at the grand prix and on Friday night.
Had to be one of the best concerts I have ever seen. They have a song list that just keeps on going and not a bad one in them.
True testement to their popularity was the age span in the audience from 10 year olds up to 60-65 years olds.
A perfect evening, weather perfect excellent support bands, sad to see you go and can't wait for the reunion tour.
