Slash Album Leak Post by: Eddie Ruckus 18 March, 2010 - 6:47 AM
This is cool. The Australian iTunes store inadvertently got itself a world exclusive overnight by releasing samples of all 16 tracks off the extended version of Slash’s upcoming debut album.
The store posted 30-second sound-bites of every song, including the just-about-to-be-released single “By The Sword”, featuring our very own curly top, Andrew Stockdale.
“‘By The Sword’ is a favourite of mine off the album,” says Slash. “I really enjoyed meeting and working with Andrew Stockdale. It was a solid collaborative effort and his voice is fantastic.”
However, our favourite would have to be the brilliantly titled “Watch This Dave”, which features the talents of one Dave Grohl, along with another chap by the name of Duff McKagan.
Of course, the Slash album is an all-star affair, featuring everyone from The Cult’s Ian Astbury, Chris Cornell, Fergie, Kid Rock, Ozzy Osbourne, Iggy Pop and many more (although we can’t see Axl’s name on the list).
Slash is out now and you can buy Slash's new album here.
SLASH TRACKLIST:
Ghost (Ian Astbury, Izzy Stradlin)
Crucify The Dead (Ozzy Osbourne)
Beautiful Dangerous (Fergie)
Back From Cali (Myles Kennedy)
Promise (Chris Cornell)
By The Sword (Andrew Stockdale)
Gotten (Adam Levine)
Doctor Alibi (Lemmy)
Watch This Dave (Dave Grohl, Duff McKagan)
I Hold On (Kid Rock)
Nothing To Say (M. Shadows)
Starlight (Myles Kennedy)
Saint Is A Sinner Too (Rocco De Luca)
We’re All Gonna Die (Iggy Pop)
Paradise City (Fergie, Cypress Hill)
So, what do you think of solo Slash?

Bring It On !!!
Slash is GOD !!!
There is no doubt that it will s**t on the GNR album, for a start Slash appreciates his fans, something Axl doesn't seem to, not to mention if you look at the list of artists that are on the album, it shows the respect the other big names in the industry have for Slash.
Would they do the same for Axl ? (probably not being Axl hasn't even showed respect for bands like The Rolling Stones & Aerosmith when they used to support them in the early touring days).
As the "in" joke between Slash and Steve Tyler goes "Hey man, where the hell is your lead singer?"
Don't get me wrong, GNR wouldn't have been GNR without Axl... but his time has been and gone, but Slash is the past, present & future :)

Eh, I may give it a go. But Fergie? Slash should be shot in the face for collaborating with that talentless wannabe.

You know nothing Sarg, Axl does respect the fans, its the bureaucrats behind the scenes in the music industry he has no time for. If you followed GnR as closely as I do you would know this. Did you know that they are currently on a world tour and have been since December and are getting rave reviews everywhere they go and playing anywhere from 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hour shows, I think that's respecting the fans and giving them what they want, an awesome Rock n Roll show, Which are few and far between these days!

Hey guys, what's up? I DID NOT call Fergie a talentless wannabe. That would be too kind. I called her a talentless 'something that starts with W and rhymes with door.' Come on guys...

So excited, and to be honest wondering about the Fergie inclusion. But hell ... it sounds amazing!
Thanks Triple M as I wouldn't have known about this if you didn't post it.

To all those lashing out at Slash's decision to work with Fergie: her track is awesome. Totally different to her existing stuff. Give it a try.
