UPDATED: Jet Singer Collapses On Stage Post by: Eddie Ruckus - Rockin' Blogger 12 August, 2009 - 6:16 AM

UPDATED: The Jet express is back on track after being temporarily derailed following Nic Cester's dramatic collapse on stage during the band's set at London's Hard Rock Cafe.

Two days after the health scare, Nic is reportedly doing well and has been released from hospital so he can join his hard-working bandmates for an intimate acoustic show at the Parker McMillan bar and concert venue.

According to a Jet spokesman an ambulance will be on standby at the venue in case anything happens.

Nic Cester has spent the night in hospital after collapsing twice during a performance at London’s Hard Rock Café.

The Jet singer collapsed after only two songs, but quickly got up and joked to the crowd that he’d contracted swine flu. But the joking stopped when Cester collapsed again moments later.

He was helped off stage and rushed by ambulance to the nearby University College Hospital in Euston, London. The rest of the band continued on for three more songs with Nic’s brother, drummer Chris Cester, taking over lead vocals before the show was abandoned.

The band’s management have released two statements about the incident. The first explained that “the singer had been unwell all day but insisted on coming to the gig and not letting fans down.”

A second statement released overnight read: “Jet’s Nic Cester is currently undergoing further tests and evaluations after his on stage collapse at Q The Music Club Live At Hard Rock Cafe last night. The Aussie rocker is suffering from dehydration and severe low blood pressure and is being held in hospital for a second day awaiting test results.

Jet is just completing their second trip around the world in support of the upcoming release of Shaka Rock. Hopping from airplane to airplane, city to city and country to country could compromise anyone’s health. Nic’s drive to give it his all and get up on stage to perform despite feeling ill is a testament to how strongly he and the band feel about “She’s A Genius” as a single and Shaka Rock as an album.”

The album is due for release on August 25 and Jet have an intense schedule of international touring still to come.

Please leave Nic a get well message here.

Good on him for not wanting to let his fans down, but he has to take it easy. I hope he gets well soon. I love Jet.

That song deserves they stay home with a cup of tea. More super sounds of snooze from Jet.

Oh yeah, Triple M, can you make a new mix-tape?

Did you know that Queen for instance recorded more than 3 songs, and AC/DC has recorded dozens of records too, suprisingly not just "Thunderstruck" & "You Shook Me All Night Long".

Why do some people not like Jet? Jet have done a lot for Aussie rock in the 21st century.
