GN’R Chinese Democracy World Tour Post by: Eddie Ruckus - Rockin' Blogger 22 October, 2009 - 6:37 AM

God help us all: Guns N' Roses are about to go back on the road, and they’re heading our way – almost.

GN'R have announced a bunch of shows for later this year and into January, and apparently this marks the beginning of a full-blown world tour in support of – cough-cough – Chinese Democracy.

The Guns N' Roses Chinese Democracy World Tour begins in South-East Asia on December 11 with a gig in the slightly conservative Taiwan [their next-door neighbours China will be happy about that]. After a handful of shows in the lead-up to Christmas, the band will spend January touring Canada.

Of course, it’s been two years since GN'R played anywhere, including gigs here in Oz.

In a completely unrelated story, Slash says he’s almost completed work on his debut solo album, Slash & Friends, which include an appearance by Wolfmother’s Andrew Stockdale.

The album is due out early next year, but a single called “Sahara”, featuring singer Koshi Inaba of Japanese rockers B’Z, will be released in Japan only on November 11. The B-side will be a re-recording of GN'R classic “Paradise City” [what a coincidence!], this version featuring Cypress Hill and Fergie from the Black-Eyed Peas. But I’m sure every old GN’R fan will absolutely fine with that!

GN’R South-East Asia dates:

December 11 – Taiwan
December 13 – Seoul
December 16 – Osaka
December 19 – Tokyo

Would you go see GN’R in concert again? Who saw them last time and what did you think?

Axl and friends to tour eh? This is a cover band with the original lead singer.

Guns 'n Roses are dead! However, the brilliant music from 1986 - 1992 will live on forever.

Not many bands (maybe with the exception of The Beatles) have experienced such a mass following as Guns did at their peak.

Look at the Appetite and Illusion album sales. The Illusions tour was the biggest rock tour of all time!

U2 and co. may have the longevity but it's unlikely that we'll see such craze over a rock band again like we saw with Guns 'n Roses.

Just try and get 75,000 people to Calder Park on a 38 degree day again. A shame it all ended too quickly.

Okay, so Chinese Democracy kind of sucked but that said, I checked out Gunners or "Axl & Friends" when they last toured and they f***ing rocked. So yeah, I would probably see them again.

As for Slash, I love the dude but the b-side of Paradise City featuring Fergie can kiss my arse. I know they have performed together before but Fergie must suck some good you know what for that to have happened.

I one of the biggest Gunners fans around and I have to admit that I'm still scarred from the time I saw them in Sydney for the Use Your Illusion tour.

They arrived by helicopter, Duff wore a corks n his hat and the sound sucked... I hate to say it but they lost me on that tour.

I think the only way you'll get me to this is if you paid me.

It is nice to see GNR back. It was too long time since "Use Your Illusion".

This album is not that good, but still shows that Axl is back on the track.

I went to see the Gunners on their 07 world tour here in Melb and I loved it.

Hearing the old Gunners songs it's a shame Slash and Duff wasn't part of the band but I still loved it.

I would see them again anytime gunsnroses live on.
