Deadly Bus Explosion In Brisbane

Queensland Police and Ambulance services have confirmed that a bus crash, resulting in an "explosion", has left 11 people injured in Brisbane.

There are multiple ambulances on scene after a "serious traffic incident" on Beaudesert Rd in Moorooka.

The QPS statement reads as follows:

Police are investigating after an incident involving a fire on a bus on Beaudesert Road at Moorooka this morning.

The incident occurred on the bus while it was stationary near Mayfield Road around 9am.

As a result of the incident the driver of the bus is deceased and 11 passengers on board the bus at the time have been treated by paramedics for smoke inhalation and minor injuries.

Inbound lanes of Beaudesert Road remain closed with diversions in place, however, drivers are urged to avoid the area.

Police investigations are continuing at the scene.
