Dating Disaster Stories Post by: Ali Carle 22 June, 2009 - 1:07 PM

Is this the worst 'dating' scene in the history of cinema? Not only did Meg Ryan put Billy Crystal off his coffee, she stole the movie with one scene, while some lucky extra got the immortal line 'I'll have what she's having'. Poor Billy.

I don't actually have a dating story...

I've never actually been on dates - I'm too tall and guys are easily intimidated! Well, some of them at any rate.

Seriously though, I'm the worst person for setting others up, so here's a guide how not to do things:

I set two good friends up on a date. She ended up ditching him by sneaking off to the toilet and then out the door.

The problem was she was my friend, he was Matt's friend, and so there was a lot of explaining and apologising to do!

When we dug further it was revealed he took her out on a first date with his soccer team and she was the only woman.

Not the way to do things folks!

So...what dating disaster stories do you have?

i once went on a date to a fancy restaurant.

had a great meal - was having a great time...

right up until she wiped her face with her napkin and let out an almighty belch of epic proportions!

couldn't wait for the night to end after that.

i was out on a date we went to a chinese restaurant and then out to a pub for drinks followed by a moonlight walk on the beach, all was going great until while walking on the beach a moment of intamcy was looming the first kiss when all of a sudden she let an almighty shot of air off from the backside region and it made wingfield dump smell like calvin kline that was the end of the date and i screened the calls from that time on

Well, you asked for a story so here's one! I was around 18 at the time and trying to Start Love for the first time. I had a huge crush on a co-worker for about a year, and I finally made it noticable. So out of pressure from friends, he took me on a date. Little did I know that he had a huge crush on me as well. Our first date was at Steak n Shake. Yeah, that's right. Romantic, no? Anyway, he was so shy that he barely talked the whole time. I tried to keep the conversation going, and it kept leading back to talking about work and bolts. Yeah, that's right. Bolts. He sure knew what he was talking about when it came to bolts, nails, and screws. So after the date was over we went home, and he barely spoke to me for the next 2 weeks. I was really upset because I liked him and I felt like he had a horrible time, etc. After those two weeks of barely talking he sat down with me at work and apologized for his behavior and asked me out on another date. He got braver and the dating turned into a short, cute little relationship that ended within 2 months. It just turned out that we wanted different things at that point and went our separate ways. But, I guess my point is that even the worst first dates can lead somewhere...for a little while at least.
