Zoe the way MANY people I know have given up is to get a herb from Happy High Herbs (ALL LEGAL!) called Passion Flower (with in THREE days..the cravings are GONE and it helps you bring all the YUCK up out of your lungs!) It calms the cravings..Has NO addictive substances in it and you still get to have the comfort of doing something with your hands. It is niot well known because lets face it the NICOTINE and ANTI-SMOKING companies make big bucks! But I am always FOR a NATURAL product that helps in anyway! Give it a go! Its CHEEP! (10 dollars! LESS than a packet of cigarettes!) Lets face it..You have nothing to loose!

I was a seriously heavy smoker from the age of 15 and went through up to 80 a day until I gave up on May 10th 2009 at the age of 58.

I believe I caused the GFC when I did that because all the local deli's where stuck with my favourite brand of smoke (& no-one else's!) & Kevin Rudd lost a lot of tax!
Try Champix - through your Doctor - and reduce your smoking AFTER you start on Champix so that within 10-14 days you are down to zero.
It worked for me and the good news is that my nephew has also stopped using that method.
Fortunately the economy is getting better & so am I & my nephew. -

I am 48 and had been a smoker since I was 14. Yes, I have given up in the past (once even for 6yrs) but have always gone back to it. I went to my doctor and got a prescription for Champix, which has worked for me. I have now been 'smoke-free' since May 2009. You need to be ready in your head to do this, and is pointless trying unless YOU are ready. If you are ready, I definitely recommend the Champix. Good Luck Zoe !!

I can guarantee that myself and many others have stopped smoking..EASILY...by simply reading a book called "The easy way to stop smoking" by Allan Carr. Unfortunatly he is dead...lung cancer!!! however, I guarantee you IT WORKS. It's not a patch that puts the same addictive chemical in your body, or a chewing gum that you will become addicted to (true story), and its not some stupid drug that makes you nuts-crazy (my brother tried that & now smokes more). Good luck.

As I mentioned to Matt today, you should make this a challenge.

Its one of the hardest things to do, but i went cold turkey. What i did was give up my favourite ones first or delay having it. Eg. Always smoke outside, straight after your meal get up and stack the dishwasher first, when out having a few drinks hold the smoke a while before lighting it. Good luck its been 18 years now for me
