Petition For A Second AC/DC Concert Post by: Triple M Adelaide 25 May, 2009 - 8:57 PM

Adelaide, do you want a second AC/DC show?

Update 28 May:

Now this is what we call a rumour!

Check out what was said on the Kym, Ali & Dzelde show:

Could AC/DC really headline Clipsal instead of playing a second show at Adelaide Oval?

Original story:

So hot were tickets for legendary Australian rockers AC/DC's first shows in their home country for a long, long time that - at the peak of demand and capacity - the ticket agency were selling an amazing 3,400 tickets...per minute!

In Sydney and Melbourne the first shows sold out in 15 minutes, while second concerts were soon added and they also sold out.  Third shows in those markets are now on sale.

Perth's first show sold out in a record 7 minutes and a second was added which has also sold out.  Brisbane followed suit also selling out in record time with a second concert also sold out.

Tickets to Adelaide's show, where only one concert is scheduled, sold out in a mere 35 minutes.

It makes you wonder - what would happen if a second Adelaide show for AC/DC was announced?

So Adelaide, we want to know - how much do you want a second AC/DC show?

Did you miss out on the hottest tickets in town? How long would you line up for to secure tickets to a second AC/DC concert in Adelaide?

I stood in line for 1 and 3/4 hrs today only to get 25 from the front of the line to find out the tickets were sold out. What is the pisser is the ticketek staff knew the $99 tickets were sold out 45 mins before they told us the concert was a sell out. Which meant there was at least 20+ of us still in line waiting for tickets that weren't even there anymore. NOT HAPPY AT ALL JAN! Not to mention Melbourne get 3 concerts a we get 1! Whats with that???

definately want a 2nd and a 3rd concert. why do we always miss out!!! and how is it that people in NSW & WA were allowed to buy up tickets for OUR Adelaide concert, only to sell them on ebay for 4x the amount??? how is that legal let alone moral. If they are not living here and coming to see the concert here then they shouldn't be able to buy tickets for here. We weren't allowed to buy tickets for the Melb concert from ticketek here, so shouldn't that act both ways???
not a very happy AC DC fan!!!

Unfortunately I missed out, sad to break a long standing promise to take my 2 boys to see AC/DC LIVE should they ever return to Adelaide.
What really bugs me is by 3:30pm yesterday, tickets were already onsale at ebay.com.au "saerch acdc adelaide" for a buy it now price of $300.00 each for 8 available.
Today there are about 50 different sellers available all highly inflated.
I thought there was a law against ticket scalping.
Again Ticketmaster has failed in allowing the real fans to get the tickets at the original prices.
Well off to work, sad sorry and dejected !! :-(

My husband and I both run a business and only had the phone to try and get tickets. We couldn't line up for hours and didnt have the internet nearby . We are avid fans of AC/DC and are really ticked off that we missed out on tickets. I just wonder how many people bought extra tickets to flog them off on ebay at a profit. We'll be pretty annoyed if they don't announce another concert for Adelaide.

Absolutely devastated we could not get tickets. My partner spent all the time in the queue to miss out just as she got to the counter. Shame on the people who have the ability to buy in bulk and sell on ebay for twice the price. Please ACDC, another concert for Adelaide!!!
