This year, Kym, Ali & Dzelde sold a total of 102,792 individual lamingtons, raising over $40,000 for Phoenix Society!

Kym, Ali & Dzelde started the famous Lamington Drive to help Adelaide charities in 2004.

Now in its fifth year, Kym, Ali & Dzelde's Lamington Drive - with the help of many generous South Australians - has raised thousands of dollars to help the Hudson Maher Foundation, Julian Burton Burns Trust, The Cranio Facial Unit and Startlight Foundation, go on and help tens of 1000s of needy South Australians.

Kym, Ali & Dzelde's Lamington Drive is back in 2008 with Kytons Bakery, who have recently been awarded the title of the best Lamington in Australia!

Things you might not know about lamingtons

Lamingtons are named after Charles Cochrane-Baillie, 2nd Baron Lamington, who served as Governor of Queensland from 1896 to 1901. Friday 21 July 2006 was designated as National Lamington Day in Australia.

Stats: each Lamo is 5.5cm square and 4.5cm high, so if we sell 65,000 that's 3575m of Lamos. Which will be 20 times the length of AAMI stadium. They will stand 2925m tall - that's 21 Westpac Buildings or over 651 stories tall!

Proceeds to charity

This year proceeds from the Lamington Drive are going to the Phoenix Society, a not-for-profit organisation that has been providing job opportunities for people with intellectual and physical disabilities since 1958. In 2008 the Phoenix Society celebrates its 50th year.
