Triple M Footy’s Mark Stevens is reporting that Geelong midfielder Josh Caddy is now very close to crossing over to Richmond.

Caddy was initially touted as a potential part of a Brett Deledio trade but the Cats have since all but given up on landing the Richmond star.

Deledio is now believed to be a strong chance of joining Greater Western Sydney.

Stevo says the Tigers’ pick 27 could be involved in the Caddy deal.

The former Gold Coast youngster had an indifferent 2016 campaign, averaging 20 touches, and a disappointing finals series.

He failed to finish in the top 10 of the Cats’ best-and-fairest count.

The 24-year-old has played 95 AFL games since debuting for the Suns in 2011.

Richmond are becoming a busy player in this trade period having already agreed to terms with Gold Coast on bringing Dion Prestia to Punt Road Oval earlier on Wednesday.
