Fremantle coach Ross Lyon has teared up during an emotional farewell to a few of Fremantle's departing players.

"I'd like to single out Tendai Mzungu, Matt de Boer, Clancee Pearce and (Matthew) Pavlich for the last five years," he said during his coach's speech, to an applause.

Pavlich announced his retirement from a legendary career this season, while Mzungu, de Boer and Pearce were all delisted.

"In all your character and your work ethic, your relentless preparation and your competing, you leave with all the respect and admiration that I can muster," he added. "They all played critical parts in big games and campaigns in (2012 to 2015).

"It's really hard to say goodbye, and we will miss you."
