Geelong And Adelaide Tee Up Father/Son Rookie Draft Picks
Geelong and Adelaide are both set to pick father/son selections in the rookie draft.
The Cats will pick Sam Simpson — son of 114-gamer Sean who played at the club in the 90s — and the Crows Ben Jarman, son of dual-premiership legend Darren.
Simpson and Jarman were available to any club at Friday night’s draft after both clubs decided not to use their original nominations, but both remained undrafted.
Now both clubs have guaranteed the players a father/son slot.
“We’re very excited that Sam Simpson wasn’t picked and (should) get through to us at the rookie draft,” Geelong list manager Stephen Wells told AAP.
The rookie draft will take place tomorrow.
