It seems as though nothing will stop Collingwood from winning another premiership this year and the same could now be said about the goal of the year award.

While there have already been a bunch of quality contenders in the first quarter of the season, reformed bad boy Andrew Krakouer may just have trumped them all when he slotted his pearler against the Western Bulldogs on a sodden MCG on Sunday.

Krakouer grabbed the ball 30 metres out from goal, slipped would-be tacklers Liam Picken and Matthew Boyd, baulked Dale Morris and sold some candy again to Picken before snagging one of the best sausage rolls you’re likely to see this season.

And the goal couldn’t have come at a better time with the match still in the balance midway through the final term.

The Magpies ended up winning by 48 points thanks to a blistering eight-goal burst in the last quarter.

Has Krakouer kicked the goal of the year?

  While the footwork was fancy,what about Jake Kings goal,de-dacked and beheaded and continued on to kick goal!

  One of the best and humourous goals I have ever seen! The slow motion view; Breaking through two tacklers moving backwards, balking the next tackler and then waiting for a diving smother to eventuate and pass by, finally getting the kick in just before another defender gets his hands in the way and putting it through well what can you say. The normal speed view: bodies launching themselves at this little bloke not quite nailing him and the ball sailing through for a goal

  Four of the biggest drawcards are in the top five on the AFL Ladder with Geelong. Sorry Mick but you'll have to wait a while for the Tigers to get back up there.
