Kangaroos Announce New Coach Post by: Triple M Footy 18 August, 2009 - 11:39 AM
Image AFL/Slattery PublishingFormer Lions mid-fielder and recent assistant coach at Collingwood, Brad Scott, is the new senior coach at North Melbourne. Brad's credentials are pretty good, having served under both Leigh Matthews and Mick Malthouse. Collingwood wished him all the best and released him from his duties on Monday, just after announcing to Mick that he would be leaving. This now makes it easy for the Magpies to add to their coaching panel, the club recently named Nathan Buckley as their new assistant coach.
Kangaroos boss and Triple M footy caller James Brayshaw wasn't involved in the interviewing process but did meet with Brad for a few hours afterwards and impressed him immensely.

Go Roos! This is great news, I was worried that we wouldn't get anyone this year. Love the fact that he as at Brisbane during their successful years.

We're going to need more than a coach. A couple of dynamic position players, like a great centre half forward would be great.

Congratulations on appointing Brad Scott as coach of North Melbourne, JB. I think that it is fantastic to see a guy who right from the word go, wanted to coach an AFL team. Please look after him and if you want to bring his brother over make sure that everyone can tell the two apart.

I hope Brad Scott can bring back some hardness at the ball and some real commitment from the players to find their heart. I have supported this great club all my life and have never seen such a soft bunch in 40 odd years. Is it time to bring Carey back in some sort of coaching role...I think his style of play is sadly missed.....

North melbourne football club congrats on naming new coach brad scott... if he coaches like he played football watch out the other 15 teams.. something the young roo boys need.... would be ideal for crocker to assist scott during this journey.... again well done
