Updated 12:15pm EST:

Reports that Terry Wallace and Richmond have parted ways are false.

Emergency meetings were held at Tigerland on Monday evening and Tuesday morning, with the Richmond players reportedly having lost faith in Wallace following his assessment of their performance after a crushing three point loss to Port Adelaide Power on the weekend.

Wallace has coached Richmond since taking over from Danny Frawley in 2005, winning 35 of 97 games. He spent time in the media after previously coaching the Western Bulldogs from 1996 to 2002, twice taking the Dogs to Preliminary Finals where they lost on both occasions to eventual premiers the Adelaide Crows.

Early reports indicated that Wallace's assistant - and former Western Bulldogs teammate - Brian Royal had been sacked as well, but they now appear to be false. So too are rumours that former Hawthorn, North Melbourne and Western Bulldogs key position player, Jade Rawlings, was taking over from Wallace for the remainder of the year. Rawlings currently coaches the Coburg Tigers in the VFL.

In a press conference this afternoon, Richmond General Manager of Football Operations Craig Cameron and Tigers skipper Chris Newman refused to elaborate on the future of Wallace and the processes put in place for the remainder of this year.

How long does Terry have left? Who do you think should take over Richmond if he gets the boot?

I think Sheedy should coach till seasons end even if he won't continue next year, he can set up a good culture and lead the players in the direction they should be heading. He would command respect and get it. He could teach the players where there attitudes need to be at to win games and give them a platform to build on next year with whomever is coach.

As a long-time Dons supporter, I'd be crushed to see Sheedy at Tigerland. They are a rabble now and will remain a rabble for years to come. Why should Sheedy tarnish his great record?

This is nothing more than media scavengers looking for a story, but where is the substance behind the rumours & innuendo? Instead, why don't we scrutinize there position through there employers?

Timmy Gee you are an idiot Kevin Sheedy is a tiger, he was a bomber for 27 years because there were no coaching opportunaties at tigerland at the time. If you post me a message and get in touch I bet you what ever you want that we will flog you on Saturday night. your current coach, oh my god he was Richmonds captain. I am not saying that we dont have dramas at punt road but as a fan of a foundation club of the V/AFL you should not put anything on another foundation club. you idiot.

    From ASH,
There is only bloke who can coach the tigers till the end of 2009 is Terry Wallace. He is a good coach he took a lesser list to two prelim finals. He knows his game and I would not beleive that the player group are in conflict with the coaching staff it just does not sound like a tigerland thing to do. They are so close to a gid win soon and mabye a string of em.
