Dale Steyn's Huge Regret On His Shoulder Injury
"People want you to play"
South African quick Dale Steyn has suggested he regrets returning from his previous shoulder injury too soon.
Steyn broke his shoulder bowling against Australia on Friday, a "rare injury" that will see him miss six months of cricket.
The 33-year-old hopes the recovery won't be too long.
"Hopefully not," he said in an interview on Channel Nine's cricket coverage. "The last time it took about three months and I was up and running and able to play and everything."
But he conceded he made his return from his previous shoulder injury too soon.
"There's a lot of cricket to be played, and people want you to play, so I didn't have the full time to recover...I've been dealing with this thing for quite some time now, so I probably should have taken a little bit longer (to let it heal)."
"I was wanting to rush and get into that Twenty20 World Cup, I wanted to go to the IPL, I wanted to play. This is what I do. So I'll probably have to take the time this time and let it heal properly."
