News.com.au have polled over 5000 users in an attempt to assemble the greatest Australian Test XI of the past 40 years.

And such is the standard of the crop to choose from, they've put together one hell of a side.

Majority of the 11 starred in the glory era of the late-1990s to early-2000s with only one player from the last 4 years featuring.

Spin legend Shane Warne was the only unanimous decision for voters, while Glenn McGrath (98%) and Adam Gilchrist (95%) were also extremely popular.
