Panthers Official Statement

Panthers forward James Fisher-Harris has been added to the New Zealand Kiwis squad to contest the Four Nations.

He replaces veteran backrower Simon Mannering, who has succumbed to a knee injury.

The call-up caps off a stellar 12 months for the 20-year-old powerhouse, who played 23 games and scored five tries for the Panthers in his rookie NRL season.

His outstanding form was recognised as he shared the 2016 Ben Alexander Rookie of the Year Award with fellow youngster Nathan Cleary.

"I've been riding a wave all season and taking everything as it has come," Fisher-Harris told last month.

"Everything has happened so quickly and it's all so surreal."

Fisher-Harris was a member of the premiership-winning Panthers NYC side in 2015 and got a taste of international rugby league when he represented the Junior Kiwis that season.

There will be plenty of Panthers representation at the Four Nations with Dallin Watene-Zelezniak and Te Maire Martin also in the NZ Kiwis squad, while Trent Merrin, Josh Mansour and Matt Moylan will represent the Kangaroos.

The tournament begins on October 28 with Australia facing Scotland at KC Lightstream Stadium in Hull.
