Flano Responds To Fifita's Threat To Walk Away
Sharks prop Andrew Fifita's contract runs until 2018, and coach Shane Flanagan isn't having a bar of talk that Fifita will be going anywhere before then.
This comes after another week in the headlines for Fifita, this time surrounding his omission from test selection due to off-field behaviour.
In response to the snubbing, it's been reported that Fifita has approached his management about quitting rugby league, and on Friday he was offered a meeting by the NRL to clear the air.
From our understanding, he's yet to take up this offer.
“Andrew’s got a contract here and I expect him to stay here and do all that,” Flanagan told Channel Nine.
“I understand he’s disappointed with what’s happened because he’s been hammered from pillar to post for a long period of time.
“He’s apologised for it and I think we need to move on and recognise what he’s just done in the grand final scoring the winning try.”
