Why The Super League Is Ten Years Behind The NRL
Former Dragons and Penrith halfback Jamie Soward has slammed the English Super League, saying on the Triple M Rush Hour that the English game isn't up to scratch as a professional competition.
"The Super League - and we saw it in the Four Nations - is ten years behind the NRL, and the competition lower than the Super League is about 20 years behind," Soward said.
"The Super League players just aren't good enough.
"And you saw in Wayne Bennett's pressers - a lot of them just aren't good enough. They don't play the consistent footy week in, week out against quality sides, which is what we do in the NRL."
Soward played eight games for the London Broncos this year after leaving the Panthers mid-season.
