Triple M's The Grill Team have blasted critics who are say tomorrow night's NRL All Stars match doesn't mean anything by listing the three reasons why you need to watch this game.
1. The Big Hits
There's no easy way to play it," says Matty Johns. "This concept is like when State of Origin first started. People were wondering 'is this going to be just a glamorous version of touch [football]?'. Next thing you know they're out there playing with semi-final intensity.
NRL All Stars captain Benji Marshall agreed telling Triple M's The Grill Team: "We don't want to let each other down. We wanna win this trophy."
2. Big Artie Beetson
"These indigenous boys will come out breathing fire because they'll be winning for Artie Beetson," says MG. "They'll be bashing and bashing and barging for Artie. Watch this game!"
3. It's The Future
The NRL will trial three new rules including:
- The ‘Power Play’ where the rival coach can choose two players from the opposition to leave the game until a try is scored.
- Tackle count restarted for infringements in the play-the-ball.
- 20/50 kicks
The NRL All Stars vs Indigenous All Stars match happens at Skilled Park on the Gold Coast on Saturday night.
The NRL All Stars concept allows fans to vote for who they think should make up an Indigenous and All Stars team. Since it began in 2009, they've played two games with one win a piece.
