We asked on Facebook and now find out who you thought was Australia's greatest sporting hero.

If you thought it was difficult to determine your favourite Aussie babe or the greatest Aussie rock band, negotiating your way through the bevy of Aussie sporting heroes was always going to be tough.
Right across Australia hundreds of you cast your votes and a clear, if somewhat controversial winner to a few, emerged.
Coming in at fourth was the horse that stopped the nation. Chris Septy Septhon and Jamie Nash on Triple M Footy were one of many people to bet on Phar Lap, the horse that captured the public's imagination during the Great Depression.

The man known as "Peter Perfect" took out third place for the most talked about Aussie sporting hero.
Peter Brock, a motor sporting legend, won Sandown 500 nine times, Bathurst 1000 Endurance race nine times.

Coming in a close second is none other than Shane Warne who left you in two minds. Brad Hayward on Triple M Brisbane said "I'm a cyclist so not friggin warnie (sic)" referring to the cricket star's recent comments over cyclists paying rego.
