Triple M's Greg "Marto" Martin says Sonny Bill Williams is set to shaft the Roosters if the worst-kept secret in Super Rugby is proved correct.

"After Chiefs and All Blacks duty then their Spring Tour to Europe, he'll head to Japan for a 12-game sabbatical. He'll then return after pre-season training has begun and has a fight scheduled mid-season in South Africa," Marto told Triple M Brisbane.

"It's like he's shafting the Roosters," Marto added who admitted the dual international is "squeezing every ounce of his athletic ability whilst he can."

Former Kangaroo Matty Johns said earlier in the week the Sonny Bill deal is "done".

If he eventually does find a pen and sign on the dotted line, SBW has a busy year ahead.

First up is the Chiefs run to the Super Rugby title which could end with the final on August 4. All Black players will then gather for the inaugural Rugby Championship with games against South Africa, Australia and Argentina finishing on October 7.

The All Blacks then start their European tour with a game against Australia at Suncorp on October 20 before heading to the northern hemisphere wrapping up at England's rugby fortress Twickenham on December 2.

Still with us?

Sonny Bill would then head to Japan for his reported $1M 12-game sabbatical through February before heading to Australia to join the Roosters on a one-year contract.

Then it all starts again with contract negotiations for 2014.

Phew.

Former Wallaby Matt Burke said Sonny Bill could work it out on a one year contract but echoed Matty Johns in asking "why would you want to."

"If he does leave a gap, they [All Blacks] have so many great players that someone could fill that hole," Burke told Triple M Sydney.

NZRU chief executive Steve Tew told NZ press Sonny Bill has made up his mind over his future but has refused to reveal where Williams will play in 2013.
