5 Best Hikes Around Adelaide You Need To Explore

Perfect time of year for it.

It’s time to put on your shoes, go outside and get walking.

There are so many hikes and walking trails around Adelaide that you’ll never get bored. 

All times are approximate – it depends on your walking speed.

Morialta Falls Valley Walk

This easy walk is very accessible, and is even better in the colder months when there is more water tumbling from the top of the falls. There are also plenty of longer hikes here that will take you to all three of the area’s waterfalls. 
Distance: 1.7km
Time: 45 min 

Waterfall Gully To Mt Lofty Summit Hike

You've probably done this before - who hasn't?! This popular walk has a café at either end, which is a great reward for conquering those steep sections.
Distance: 3.9km
Time: 2 hours

Wetlands Loop Trail, Onkaparinga River

Make your way through the wetlands on this excellent trail. Bring your camera because there are plenty of opportunities for bird watching and photo taking.
Distance: 4.5km
Time: 2.5 hours

Waterfall Hike – Belair National Park

Head through Echo Tunnel and explore the picturesque rock escarpments of the Upper and Lower Waterfalls.
Distance: 6.5km
Duration: 3 hours

Marion Coastal Walking Trail

Length: 7km (one way)
Duration: 2 hours
There is nothing nicer than wandering along this clifftop walkway! There’s plenty to explore along the way, and lots of spots to take some amazing photos.

Remember to always wear appropriate shoes, take enough water with you and check for any local warnings before you head out.
