Apple co-founder Steve Jobs turned the world on it's head during his life.

The pioneer of industrial change passing will leave a massive void in industrial design and making products deeply human.

A relative newcomer in the industry, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg posted his own tribute.

"Steve, thank you for being a mentor and a friend. Thanks for showing that what you build can change the world. I will miss you."

Microsoft's Bill Gates said it was "an insanely great honour" to have met the Apple guru and that he would "miss Steve immensely."

From the man who was given up for adoption when he was born to the man who we never saw without a black turtleneck jumper, we pay homage to the legend that was Jobs.

New iPhone announced

Apple's new CEO has announced details of it's latest phone, the iPhone 4S.

The design is actually the same as the current iphone 4 but is seven times faster and has "basically had a new engine dropped into it", according to The Gadget Man Pete Blasina.

However not everyone is thrilled with Apple shares taking an immediate 3.5% drop on the stock market.

Apple chief Steve Jobs held a press conference in the wee small hours on Saturday 17 July Australian time to address the hoopla surrounding the new iPhone 4. At one point stopping to say “we love our users”.

Jobs defended his phone and offered a free bumper or case to people who wanted one.
