AC/DC To Headline Glastonbury 2015?

Metallica's Lars Ulrich spills the beans on AC/DC's festival plans

Does Lars Ulrich know something we don't?

The Metallica man has spilled the beans on who he believes will headline the epic Glastonbury festival next year, telling Q magazine he's heard it's AC/DC.

"Can I throw in my first bid for who I think [festival organiser] Michael Eavis has booked for next year? I have heard it might be a band whose lead singer is British, but none of the rest of the band are. Yeah… AC/DC. Come on! Can you imagine that?," exclaimed Lars.

Oh, yes we can, Lars, yes we can! Better start saving for those tickets!

If it were to happen, it would look something like the below. Incredible band to see live.

Only hours after the 2014 Glastonbury Festival came to a close rumours began swirling about next year’s headline acts.

Festival Founder Michael Eavis told a press conference on Sunday morning that a number of bands have already been booked with one act committing during the Metallica set.

The speculation is that the band in question is none other AC/DC who share a manager with Metallica.

Australian gambling company, have priced up the rockers as $3.00 to headline the event. Good odds?

Festival Organisers are yet to confirm or deny the rumours but they have plenty of time - next years event will take place between June 24 and 28.

Last month AC/DC singer Brian Johnson mentioned on his website than it’s ‘very likely’ they will be on tour before the end of this year.

Introducing: Royal Blood

The Brighton duo are making waves with their heavy, addictive tunes.

Royal Blood Guitarist Mike Kerr Photo: Getty Images

Duo Royal Blood consists of Mike Kerr (vocals, guitar) and Ben Thatcher (drums). Based out of Brighton in the UK, these two lads create a very distinct sound of heavy, loud, kick ass rock (like there's any other way?!).

When you listen to Royal Blood for the first time they instantly conjur up comparisons to artists like Arctic Monkeys, Jack White and QOTSA. Not only do they sound good on record, but live as well, there's a reason they supported Arctics back in November.

Their debut self-titled album is due to be released on August 25th and we've been loving their latest single "Figure It Out" which has a great clip and an even better riff. Check out some of their videos below.

Rise Against's Confronting New Video

'I Don't Want To Be Here Anymore' is their heavy new song with a full-on video clip.

Rise Against - I Don't Want To Be Here Anymore Video: Rise Against Vevo

The new video by American punk-rockers Rise Against opens with two young kids sitting on a porch in 'South Side, Chicago'.

"Some people be shooting, and one man just get out a car and...'boom, boom', we've seen shootings about three or four times," says a young girl.

The rest of the clip for "I Don't Want To Be Here Anymore" splices vision of the band and some pretty full-on facts and clips of violence, shootings and other disasters.

The band is known for their activism supporting causes like Amnesty International.

The new clip comes off the back of their 7th LP, The Black Market which was released on July 15th.

It's not for the faint hearted but it is a bloody good clip.

Warning: Video contains graphic footage that might offend some viewers.

Billy Suprisingly Sane Rant

After accepting an award The Smashing Pumpkins frontman provides some sane advice for artists.

Billy Corgan At The Alternative Press Music Awards Photo: Getty Images

It's always a bit of a gamble when awarding Billy Corgan an he going to go off on some crazy Corgan rant?!

At the Alternative Press Music Awards, Corgan was given the Vanguard Award, and did go off on a tagent, but also made some pretty sane points about the current state of rock music.

He started out in typical Corgan-esque cryptic style, "The kids rule, the kids always rule, the kids win and they should. I'm no legend, your favourite song is legend, your favourite band is legend, your favourite concert is legend, that's what makes it work."

But then expressed some interesting views on current music, "Every generation deserves its dreams, its bands, its voices and I'm glad to see those bands here tonight, it's awesome."

"[Talking about Joan Jett] Incredilbe artist, incredible career and yes it's a career, its called a career, it's ok. It's ok to sell things, it's ok to sell t-shirts, nobody gets hurt."

He also had some advice for new bands, "There's two paths you take when you first put on that guitar or sing that song and that's 'do I want to please the audience or do I want to push this audience's buttons' and in 'alternative music' have to really yell to push those buttons."

And his closing statement...back to classic Corgan...

"...I'm recieveing this in humility because I'm willing to push your buttons, because I'm willing to go tell you to go f*ck yourself. I didn't start a band to be anybodys b*tch, I started a band to kick your f*cking head in."

I think it’s got a lot of gems on it. But there’s a song that a lot of people who have heard the record really like that surprised me called ‘The Dissident.’ It’s one of those songs that’s politically orientated lyrically. It’s got a different feel and for some reason, people are calling it really catchy. So that’s interesting, we’ll see what happens with that."

Young Girls Slay Slayer

Audrey & Kate cover Slayer's 'War Ensemble' and absolutely kill it (in the best way possible).

It looks like kids from a younger and younger age are getting into heavy metal.

We would've expected sisters Kate & Audrey to be into Mily Cyrus but there's always exceptions to the rule.

Playing a game called Rocksmith, the girls chose War Ensemble by Slayer and as you can see they nail it with Audrey smashing the riffs and solo's and Kate belting out Tom Araya's vocals in a very Slayer-esque style.
