Big weekend in ol’ Bon Jovi town over the weekend with Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora being formally inducted into the American Songwriters Hall Of Fame.
Both Jon and Richie were on hand for the gala event in New York to accept the honour and to deliver a rip-roaring version of “Wanted: Dead Or Alive”.
Mr BJ was obviously chuffed by the accolade. He told Rolling Stone magazine: “On a night like this, it comes back to one thing: the power of the pen.
“If you write one song that comes across decades, you’re lucky. If you write a body of them and you’re recognised in the Songwriters Hall of Fame, it’s prestigious.”
It says a lot about the Jov’s achievement that the other band being honoured on the night – Crosby, Stills and Nash – has been around for almost twice as long as the Jov.
Bon Jovi last year also became eligible for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame [being 25 years since the release of their debut single “Runaway”] but were overlooked in favour of Metallica, Iggy Pop’s Stooges and, everyone’s favourite rock band, Run DMC [what the …?!?!?]
Um, do you think Bon Jovi deserves to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame? And why would that be?

Hall of fame should be a given for these guys, they have not only been around for decades but had huge hits in all of them, they are as influential in there song writing as Lennon/McCartney and have sold more albums than KISS.
Need I say more. Bon Jovi ARE Rock Ledgends, in my opinion it would be hard to dispute that.

This version of Stand By Me is awesome, they sound great & the song has a nice peaceful sound.
HALL OF FAME!!!!!! What can I say????? Jon Bon Jovi & Ritchie Sambora really deserve it.
They should definitely be recognised for the awesome contribution they have made to the music industry. THEY ROCK!!!!
Their music has truly made it's mark & will be around forever.

They deserve more accolades, they have been around for 26 years and are still delivering, unlike many others from their era.

With over 25 years of rockin' behind them, and a HUGE number of hits, how could they NOT be in the American Songwriters Hall of Fame.
I mean sure a lot of their songs are just fun, but many of them say so much more, and they are the soundtrack to my life!!!

It's classic Bon Jovi love the song. All I can say it's about time you guys are in the hall of fame well done boys.
