Chisels’ Secret Warm-Up Gig Post by: Eddie Ruckus - Rockin' Blogger 27 November, 2009 - 6:35 AM
Cold Chisel thrilled patrons at Sydney’s tiny Clovelly Bowling Club on Wednesday night with a surprise full warm up show.
The band jumped on stage for a wet-dream, 22-song greatest hits set.
Jimmy Barnes revealed details of the gig while presenting an award at the ARIA last night, saying the band had played to about 100 people at the venue.
It was Chisel’s first public performance since they played a charity show in Melbourne in 2005.
The warm-up comes ahead of their headlining slot at the V8 Supercars event in Sydney on December 5.
As recently reported, The Chis have just engaged new management, so expect quite a bit of activity come 2010.
Warm-Up Set-List:
Standing On The Outside
Shipping Steel
The Things I Love In You
Saturday Night
Painted Doll
Cheap Wine
Don’t Let Go
My Baby
Rising Sun
Forever Now
Houndog
When The War Is Over
You Got Nothing I Want
Merry Go Round
Flame Trees
Khe Sahn
Bow River
Four Walls
One Long Day
Letter To Allan
Choir Girl
The Last Wave Of Summer
Oh good God – what would you have given to be there? Who’s going to the V8 show?

I was at the Cold Chisel concert on Wed night at Clovelly. It was bloody awesome. Clovelly bowlo has never been rocked so hard. Mostly celebs in the crowd of about 150 but still a great atmosphere.

Port Augusta was awesome Saturday night. Loved every minute. However it was at the expense of Barnsey's own truly wonderful music - which I drove 630 km to hear. Anyway I'll see him Jan 9 at Mannum! Cool!
