Having been on holidays since leaving our shores last November, Pearl Jam are all set to go back on the road in US.
Bizarrely, they’re kicking off their US tour in May with a headlining slot at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Foundation Festival on May 1.
They’ll then play a dozen shows through the US, including two nights at New York’s Madison Square Gardens on May 20 and 21, before heading off for a month-long European tour which kicks off at Dublin’s O2 Arena on June 22.
In the meanwhile, Pearl Jam has donated a live version of “Animal” as a free download at musicforaction.org website. The song, which was recorded at the 2008 Bonnaroo festival in Tennessee, is part of the free Best of Bonnaroo compilation, aimed at raising awareness about climate change.
Also, Stone Gossard’s side-project Brad also made a new track from their forthcoming album available for download. You can grab the song “Running For Cover” at Bradcorporation.com.
From memory, were last year’s Australian Pearl Jam shows some of the best or worst of 2009?

Um silly question guys, easily the best.
I have seen a number of big and small name acts, and I admit, I am a Pearl Jam nutter, but that is simply because no band is better live than Pearl Jam.
The variety of songs Pearl Jam deliver night after night is second to none.
Sure people complain about the Sydney concert, but man it was awesome and those people should actually educate themselves in a bit of Rock'n'roll 101 and realise not many do it better than Eddie and the boys.

Pearl Jam are AWESOME, I too was at the Sydney concert & for 3 previous tours & the guys ROCKED IT. There was a great blend of their music.
I'm glad they don't play Alive & Daughter every time they hit a stage 'cause the other lesser played songs like Crazy Mary & Dissadent..rock!!
Come back soon PJ.
