We've got hold of the new Powderfinger song - a song which they recorded in the sessions for their last album, Golden Rule mid-last year but was never released.

The song is titled "I'm On Your Side" they've released it for the victims of the Queensland floods with %100 of the profits going to the Premier's Disaster Relief Fund (You can hear 30 seconds of the song above).

As Queensland boys from Brisbane they put out an official statement today to pass on their sympathies to everyone affected by the flood.

"The recent floods that ravaged Queensland have saddened and shocked us all," said the 'Finger. "Our sympathies go out to everyone that has been affected and our condolences to those who have lost loved ones.

"The Powderfinger bandroom at Newstead went under, along with many of our wonderful neighbours' businesses and we thank everyone who came to lend a hand in the clean up.

"We know that 'Fingers fans are extraordinarily generous and we appeal to you to help out one more time by purchasing our song, or donating to one of the suitable funds."

The single "I'm On Your Side" is available to buy at www.powderfinger.com and www.getmusic.com.au/powderfinger from Tuesday, 25 January.
