Jet In Ashes Post by: Eddie Ruckus - Rockin' Blogger 10 August, 2009 - 6:41 AM

God-damn the sudden resurgence of Australian cricket overnight – where the hell does that leave Jet?

The Melbourne rockers had planned to greet the Australian team tomorrow morning [this evening, our time] as they arrived at the Headingley Cricket Ground in Leeds before the start of the fourth day's play in their test match against England.

Sadly however, the Aussies whooped Poms’ butts in only three days, which means Jet are going to be a bit lonely if they still turn up for their performance, because no one else will be there.

The band were scheduled to perform an acoustic set outside the ground as the team bus arrived at the oval.

We’re not sure what the band’s plans are now, but they’ll be back in the UK next month for a national tour. Better luck next time, Poms!

By the way, the above clip was filmed a couple of weeks back at Luna Park in Sydney for Channel [V]. Of course, the song, “Blackhearts”, will feature on Jet’s Shaka Rock album, which is out at the end of next week.

What do you think of the new song? Will you be lining up to buy Shaka Rock next week?

I went to this show and it was really, really good.

I was a bit sceptical because I didn't really like their last album, but the guys looked like they really wanted to be there.

I was there and it was an awesome performance. I've already pre-ordered the album.
