At last, the official story of Pearl Jam has been told in a new book out today (that's the cover of the book above).
Titled Pearl Jam Twenty the photo-packed book chronicles the Seattle grunge legends past two decades telling the story of a band that burst onto the world stage with their debut album, Ten and how they went on to become one of rock's most influential bands.
Reviews have surfaced online and they're all saying it's a great read and a must-have for fans of not only Pearl Jam but rock in general.
The Weekend Australian said: "If you've ever wondered what it might be like to be a rock star, Pearl Jam Twenty shares the journey in dizzying detail. Few American bands stay together as long as Pearl Jam and [Eddie] Vedder's final word explains why he thinks they've lasted."

There are loads of great never-before-seen photos and personal diary entries detailing the band on the road and in the studio. Plus, it tackles touchy subjects including the death of nine fans during their appearance at the Roskilde festival, their battles with Ticketmaster, and the firing of drummer Dave Abbruzzese.
The book was written by music writer Jonathan Cohen and Mark Wilkerson, and includes interviews with rock legends like Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young and Dave Grohl.
There will also be a Pearl Jam Twenty soundtrack (out Sept 16) with songs personally selected by Cameron Crowe, who was the director of the PJ doco that's coming out.
You can order the book and soundtrack at www.pj20.com.
The documentary Pearl Jam Twenty will be in movie theatres in Australia for one night only on September 20, 2011 at Hoyts Cinemas, Village Cinemas and Event Cinemas.
Meanwhile, Sony have released this remarkable live performance of their hit "Better Man". Shot at Madison Square Garden in New York, it marked the launch of the Pearl Jam Countdown, which was a countdown to this week's release of the Pearl Jam Twenty film and soundtrack.
Have you bought the book yet? What is it like?
