Pearl Jam Single Sneak Preview Post by: Eddie Ruckus - Rockin' Blogger 16 July, 2009 - 7:51 AM

The Fixer - Pearl Jam

Here is the first sample of Pearl Jam’s brand new single, “The Fixer”. Yeah-yeah-yeah!

“The Fixer” will be delivered to radio around the world today, so whatever you do, stay tuned to Triple M where we'll be playing it all day.

But this dodgy little snippet of the track, recorded straight off someone's TV in the US last night, was played over the credits at the end of a big televised baseball game.

This 60-second clip confirms what we were all hoping might be true – that the new Pearl Jam Backspacer album is set to be a scorcher!

The band have also revealed full details of Backspacer, their ninth studio album, which will be out September 20.

As we exclusively revealed here a couple of weeks back, Pearl Jam will be in Australia for a national tour in December. Details expected any day now.

Here is the track list for Backspacer:

“Gonna See My Friend”
“Got Some”
“The Fixer”
“Johnny Guitar”
“Just Breathe”
“Amongst the Waves”
“Unthought Known”
“Supersonic”
“Speed of Sound”
“Force of Nature”
“The End”

What do you think of “The Fixer”?

For anybody who's interested, Pearl Jam have already performed one of their new songs live!!:
    Pearl Jam - Got Some

This was performed on the Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien about a month ago, and it will appear on the new album!

Cannot wait, this is rockin hard. This band just keeps getting better and better.

By the way, I was very disappointed when we hardly ever played anything from their 2006 album!!!

It was a kickass album and definitely deserved some airplay. I certainly hope we make amends with this album and give it the kind of airplay it deserves!

... not that I'm jumping to conclusions and saying its a great album before I've even heard it... but I'd be highly surprised if it isn't another excellent album from this great and long-living band.

This song is going to rock - from what I have heard it sounds like it will be the most commercial friendly single since Given to Fly. And 'Got Some' - not so much radio friendly but ROCKS!

Ace! This single kicks ass - great chorus and the riff is vintage Pearl Jam.

I just hope the rest of the album follows suit coz as a long-time fan I know their last few albums have had 1 or two killer songs and the rest has been filler.
