Pink Floyd Reunion Post by: Dave-O 19 July, 2010 - 2:13 PM

Well, knock us down with a feather. Pink Floyd fans your prayers have been answered.
Last week, the first steps toward a Pink Floyd reunion were made when David Gilmour joined Roger Waters on stage at a charity event in London.
It was the first time the pair have performed together since 2005. Waters told his Facebook followers: "David was there as a supporter and was moved to perform an impromptu rendition of George Gershwin's "Summertime" which he performed aided and abetted by supermodel Kate Moss."
The event was a fundraiser for The Hoping Foundation, a charity that supports Palestinian refugee kids.
The gig was such a resounding success the warring frontmen are now working on the idea of Gilmour doing a surprise appearance on Water's current tour of The Wall where he'll get up and perform a couple of songs, maybe at the end of the concert.
Waters said that Gilmour sent him an email which read: "If you do 'To Know Him Is To Love Him' for The Hoping Foundation Gig, I'll come and do 'C. Numb' on one of your Wall shows". The first song was a regular in the band's early soundchecks, while C. Numb is, of course, the Pink Floyd classic "Comfortably Numb".
The last time the pair played together was at 2005's Live 8 concert. Back then it was the first time they'd shared a stage for 25 years. Back then Waters was up for a reunion but Gilmour was completely disinterested.
Of course, a full reunion is impossible with the death of keyboardist Richard Wright in 2008, but still how good what it be to see the remaining members playing "Breathe", "Money", and "Wish You Were Here"?.
Roger Waters is currently on tour doing a 30th Anniversary tour for The Wall across the US. No word on Aussie dates... yet. Fingers crossed!
How excited are you to see a Pink Floyd reunion?

I have seen the Roger Water concert and it was excellent, but to get him & David Gilmour back together again to tour would be the ultimate. I would travel anywhere in the world to see the concert, it would be the best of the best.
