Plug Pulled On GN'R Show Post by: Dave-O 30 August, 2010 - 9:18 AM

Well, Axl can't say he wasn't warned, but GN'R's set at a UK festival was cut short by organisers after the band broke curfew.

The controversial rockers were refused an encore after hitting the stage an hour late for their headlining spot at the Leeds and Reading Festival last Friday.

As the band's set finished at midnight, which was already 30 minutes after the festival's curfew, organisers ordered that the sound be turned off.

In the video we secured you can see singer Axl Rose and his band urging the crowd to get the sound turned back on.

Festival organisers had warned Axl earlier in the week that they wouldn't tolerate any of his shenanigans, which often involves turning up late and then playing for however long he wants.

In a statement released after the gig, organisers said: "Guns N' Roses wanted to 'extend' the new agreed curfew but were prevented from doing so in order to comply with the entertainment licence issued by Reading Council."

The band played a mix of new and classic stuff including "Welcome To The Jungle", "November Rain", and "Sweet Child O' Mine", the latter of which was dedicated to the Chilean miners!

What it doesn't say is that they were late on stage because of a technical problem the organisers had, GnR were ready to go on stage on time but couldn't because of the problem. Report the whole story instead of trying to make Axl look bad again!

Right on Mark, I agree. When it comes down to it, whatever the details are, I don't care. Axl is awesome. The "new Gunners" are awesome and I would much rather see them than Slash performing with the likes of Fergie.
