Totally devastated....but at least we get a farewell concert. I don't think I have ever loved a band as much as these guys...even my kids know their songs off by heart!

My favourite all time band and in my opinion the greatest Aussie band for the past 15 years......I've been to several of their concerts and I'll go to every concert on this tour I can. This is a sad day for Australian music.

I'm totally distraught :( At least they are bowing out with class and some wonderful final concerts for us all.

Thanks for the music and the memories guys, you are one of the greatest Australian bands ever. Your contributions to charity and important social issues has been of great benefit to many people.

Powderfinger for me sum up what it means to be Australian. They are genuine, proud of where they come from and best of all - they never forget their fans or Brisbane. They are the best band ever to come out of Brisbane. Just devastated they are calling it a day. I think they have got more in them but only they know when they feel they have given it all they can. They have set a precident that will be very hard to match. When you go to a Powderfinger concert you always have a great time, they always play well and you never forget the shows. So to Powderfinger I say thank you so much for such great music, being such great down to earth guys and most of all thank you so much for one of the best nights of my life. Live at the Tivoli on 9 June 2008 was a very special night for me. It was broadcast live on the internet. I have my own personal souvenir of that concert as we were able to purchase the CD so this is something I will really cherish. It always makes me smile every time I listen to it and it takes me back to that great night.. Stand out song on the night was Since You've Been Gone - I've been to many concerts in my time and never seen an audience take over a song they way they did with this that night. Amazing! My favourite song is These Days - words that are so true and I can really relate to. I wish all the members of Powderfinger all the best in their future endeavours and all I can say is I hope I'm around when the reunion tour rolls around!

What a hole you guys will leave in the Australian music scene. So many great songs and great performances.

Seeing the Upstairs/Downstairs tour was my boys first concert experience and what a way to begin at 9 and 11.

We'll look forward to being part of your farewell.

I'm sure great success will be yours in the future and I'm with Megan - here's looking forward to a reunion tour!

Why the fuss? Powderfinger had to be one of the most overrated Australian bands ever, so this can't be that newsworthy.

They are nowhere near the class and talent of great Aussie acts such as Cold Chisel, Midnight Oil & Inxs, just to name a few.

Their only decent song was "On My Mind" and the real tragedy was that no-one else thought of it first. So, lets just get on with it, folks.
