U2 Get Remixed Post by: Eddie Ruckus 19 March, 2010 - 6:35 AM

U2 – “Elevation” (Influx remix)

Put on your dancing shoes, kids – U2 are about to release a triple-album worth of remixed tracks.

The new set is cleverly entitled Artificial Horizon and features three vinyl albums worth of remixed hits and flops dating all the way back to U2’s disastrous “dance” album, 1997’s Pop.

Only three of the 13 remixes presented on Artificial Horizon haven’t been heard before but the record contains such rare gems as Trent Reznor’s remix of “Vertigo”.

Older U2 fans will remember the band released a similar fan-club remix album back in 1995 called Melon which has gone on to become a serious collector’s item.

Artificial Horizon becomes available on May 14, only through the U2 website, and will cost you US$35.

Meanwhile, we’re still expecting U2’s new studio album, Songs Of Ascent, to be out by June to coincide with the recommencement of the 360° world tour.

ARTIFICIAL HORIZON TRACKLIST:
 “Elevation” (Influx remix)
 “Fast Cars” (Jacknife Lee remix)
“Get on Your Boots” (Fish Out of Water mix)
 “Vertigo” (Trent Reznor remix)
 “Magnificent” (Falke Radio mix)
“I’ll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight” (Live U2 360° mix)
 “Beautiful Day” (Davil Holmes mix)
“Staring at the Sun” (Monster Truck remix)
“Happiness Is a Warm Gun” (Danny Saber mix)
“Get on Your Boots” (Justice remix)
“City of Blinding Lights” (Hot Chip 2006 remix)
“If God Will Send His Angels” (Grand Jury mix)
“Staring at the Sun” (Brothers in Rhythm Ambient mix)

For U2, 8 million copies is 'disastrous'.

I meant 'disastrous' as in 'worst U2 record ever'. Anyone ever get up in the morning and think, 'Oh, let's put on Pop.' Anyone? PS: Crazy Frog sold lots of records too.

You're right though, Eddie, it didn't work out the way the band would have liked, nor the general public for that matter...

Actually, yes I do play POP the most out of all the u2 albums. I am a massive fan and have been since the 80's, and of all their albums it is my favorite. It is their most clever album, since beneath the 'dance' mirage presented, it is rock. And a far better album than their most recent effort which was, dare i say it, rubbish.
