Watch U2360° Official Movie Post by: Eddie Ruckus - Rockin' Blogger 3 July, 2009 - 7:36 AM

Used to be you’d have to wait until the end of a world tour for an official concert film to be released. Not anymore.

U2 have released this stunning 10-minute film, showing the build-up and concert footage from this week’s opening show of their 360° world tour in Spain.

Unlike the clip we showed you yesterday, there’s no sign here of the band stuffing anything up!

This clip has already caused some excitement amongst U2 fans around the world overnight because isn’t that an unreleased U2 song featured at the beginning and end of the movie?

Bono has also revealed this week that the 50-metre “Claw” was basically his idea and it took some convincing to get the rest of the band to agree to play in the middle of stadiums surrounded by the crowd.

“It dawned on us that for a U2 audience, the one thing more powerful than having a backdrop of a big video screen would be to have a backdrop of more of the audience,” Bono explained.

“It’s an idea we’ve been working on for about eight years, much to the skepticism of my band mates and most people in the industry who said it wasn’t possible to play like this in the round.

“But I talked about it all through the Vertigo Tour and eventually they told me maybe I was not insane.”

How good is this short film?
