As nine Aussies prepare for a second night behind bars in Malaysia.. it's been revealed they're facing up to 2 years in jail, if authorities come down hard on them.
The so-called 'Budgie Nine' were arrested on Sunday after stripping to pre-purchased budgie smugglers decorated in the Malaysian flag as they celebrated Daniel Ricciardo's grand prix win.
The guys have been visited by their families, who have arranged top Malaysian death penalty lawyers Tania Scivetti and Shafee Abdullahto help fight their case.
They are waiting to learn if police will charge them with “intentional insult with intent to provoke a breach of the peace”, which carries a 2 year jail sentence, and “public indecency”.
